Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Theatre Practitioner - Anaesthetics to join our client's Theatre department. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to quality care across a range of services, working closely with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, quality care for patients during their peri-operative phase, ensuring seamless transitions between departments.
  • Support, coordinate, and assist in the management and organisation of care within the operating department, promoting efficient workflows and effective communication.
  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership to ensure quality patient care, mentoring junior staff and contributing to the development of best practices.
  • Lead patient care delivery during assigned periods, ensuring continuity of care and effective handovers.
  • Conduct and ensure adherence to patient safety checks, identifying and mitigating potential risks to patient well-being.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive excellence in patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to the functional specialty (e.g., Advanced Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification).
  • ENB 998 and/or mentorship course.
  • Approved/recognised anaesthetic course.
  • ILS certification and orthopaedic skills.
  • Previous experience in an acute healthcare environment and in managing a clinical team.
