About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Health Advisor to join our team at the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to patients with dental symptoms, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake dental triage using clinical software systems to ensure accurate documentation and effective service delivery.
  • Provide concise and relevant advice to callers, enabling them to access appropriate health services and meet their needs.
  • Participate in intensive induction training and ongoing professional development to maintain and improve skills.
  • Share best practices and knowledge within the dental team, identifying sources of information and contributing to the development of the team.
  • Ensure ongoing personal and professional development, participating in personal development reviews and contributing to the appraisal scheme.

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) and National Certificate/NVQ Level 3 in Health Dental Nursing.
  • Current registration with the General Dental Council.
  • Significant dental nurse health service experience (post-qualification) and evidence of providing information and advice to the public in a confident manner.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Certificate in Oral Health Education.
  • Previous experience of telephone triage.
