About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Health Advisor to join our team at the Welsh Ambulance NHS Trust. As a Dental Health Advisor, you will play a vital role in providing expert advice and guidance to patients with dental-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake dental triage and provide concise and relevant advice to callers with dental symptoms.
  • Utilize clinical software systems to ensure accurate documentation of patient episodes of care.
  • Provide information to enable access to relevant and appropriate healthcare services to meet the needs of callers.
  • Participate in intensive induction training and continually update and improve skills.
  • Share best practice and knowledge within the dental team and identify sources of information.
  • Ensure ongoing personal and professional development and participate in personal development reviews.
  • Inform the Operational Senior Clinical Advisor or Call Handler Co-ordinator and Team Leader of any issues affecting service delivery.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent)
  • National Certificate/NVQ Level 3 in Health Dental Nursing
  • Current registration with the General Dental Council
  • Significant dental nurse health service experience (post-qualification)
  • Evidence of providing information and advice to the public in a confident manner
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Certificate in Oral Health Education
  • Previous experience of telephone triage
