About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Analyst to join our IT department at Home Bargains. As an Analyst Programmer, you will play a key role in improving the efficiency of our business areas, including stores, distribution, and head office functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Produce detailed software specifications after engaging with stakeholders, and provide interfaces between core systems and peripheral systems using web services, socket connections, or other technologies.
  • Support and Maintenance: Provide third-line support to the support desk, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they occur, and mentor other colleagues in areas of the system they may not be familiar with.
  • Research and Development: Research new technology and recommend appropriate solutions, and promote code through the change management process and contribute to peer testing.
  • Communication and Representation: Represent the IT function to third-party providers and provide a technical interface to the business, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
Requirements
  • ERP Development Experience: Proven experience in ERP development and software integration, with knowledge of warehouse/DC software and retail/Epos experience.
  • Software Development Lifecycle: Experience and demonstrable competence in the full software development lifecycle for all variants of RPG, with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Able to prioritize and manage your own workload to ensure timely delivery of required outputs, with a 'can-do' attitude and determination to see the job through to resolution.
  • Customer Focus: Customer-focused and have an approachable attitude, with the ability to adapt and use new technologies.
