Position Overview:
A Contracts Manager is sought to oversee the Street Lighting division of our client's contract and related initiatives. This role entails comprehensive management of both reactive and scheduled maintenance, as well as support for the Capital team regarding street lighting components of significant projects.

Key Responsibilities:
To ensure a safe working environment and adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality standards while fulfilling the requirements of clients and stakeholders.

  • Manage operational teams effectively, aligning with budgetary constraints and specifications across all relevant contracts.
  • Ensure adherence to all aspects of HERS (Highways Electrical Registration) and Sector Scheme 8.
  • Act as the custodian of the Electrical Inspection Scheme (EIS), providing recommendations based on testing outcomes.
  • Oversee that both in-house and subcontracted work complies with RAMS / SSW, including conducting site inspections.
  • Deliver maintenance and project work in accordance with contract performance targets and timelines.
  • Guarantee that all lighting work, whether performed directly or through subcontractors, meets the highest standards of quality and compliance with relevant regulations (including BS7671) and certification requirements.
  • Maintain precise records of all activities, ensuring that financial data is accurate and readily available for internal reporting and applications.
  • Support the client in all service aspects, contributing to the client's Asset Management plan through structural and electrical testing.
  • Engage with elected officials, local forums, and the public to support client projects and objectives.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on project delivery progress for presentation to senior management and clients.
  • Develop a skilled lighting team and advocate for self-delivery.
  • Mentor and nurture team members, overseeing the development of apprentices.
  • Provide clear leadership and management to ensure team members understand their objectives, remain motivated, and maximize productivity.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management, clients, and stakeholders to identify and implement safer, more efficient work practices while ensuring value for money.
  • Drive innovation in technology, equipment, and work methodologies, including the digitization of all workstreams.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all lighting-related activities across the contract, facilitating interaction with the broader business and LINC to share best practices and lessons learned.
