About the Role

Oxford Innovation Space is a leading provider of innovation centres and business support services to companies throughout the UK. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Centre Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our centres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Centre Operations
    • Assist in the day-to-day management of the centre, ensuring a high level of customer service and operational excellence.
    • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the centre, including health and safety and security.
    • Manage the centre's asset register and contract database.
    • Assist in the procurement and management of contractors, suppliers, and consumables.
  • Customer Experience
    • Support the Centre Manager in creating a successful innovation centre, enhancing its reputation for excellence.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service levels, supporting the Centre Manager with overall management control and accountability for the commercial performance of the centre.
  • Sales and Marketing
    • Support the Centre Manager in promoting available space in the centre on pre-agreed commercial terms.
    • Assist in generating revenue from various products available in the centre.
    • Maintain an awareness of Oxford Innovation Space's range of services, projects, and expertise and promote appropriately to partners and clients.
  • Team Development
    • Assist with team management, including reception staff and temporary cover.
    • Assist with recruiting and coaching the centre management team in the required standards of performance and service levels.
  • Financial Management
    • Support the Centre Manager with financial management information, including invoicing customers and debt management.
    • Assist in budget planning and monitoring of expenditure and cost.
Requirements
  • Experience in the operational running of an asset of the size, character, and quality of the centre.
  • Clearly identifiable management skills in a customer-facing environment.
  • Evidence of facilities management or operational management experience.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills, tactful and persuasive.
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive with a desire to contribute to the company more widely.
  • Client and customer services-focused.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Motivate, lead, and delegate tasks to team.
  • Team player and team leader.
  • IT literate.

  • Salary of up to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
