Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Distribution Centre by performing routine and emergency repairs to equipment, fixtures, fittings, and building systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance and Repair: Undertake scheduled and reactive maintenance activities within the warehouses and offices at the Distribution Centre, including minor building/plumbing repairs, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and repairs, and general maintenance.
  2. Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative maintenance measures to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  3. Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of repair equipment and supplies to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  4. Reactive and Emergency Tasks: Carry out reactive and emergency breakdown tasks allocated by management.
  5. Liaison with Contractors: Liaise as required with external contractors, overseeing their activities and conforming to all H&S regulations and best practices.
  6. Communication and Teamwork: Attend meetings and workshops, and focus on high customer satisfaction within service level targets.
  7. Additional Responsibilities: Perform other maintenance duties as requested, and travel may be required occasionally to support subsidiary sites inside the M25.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications: Recognised Mechanical / Electrical Engineering qualification.
  2. Driving Licence: Full clean UK driving licence.
  3. Experience: Significant experience of facilities maintenance, preferably in a Warehouse / Food Distribution environment (preferably a chilled environment).
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Health and Safety: H&S/ COSHH trained.
  6. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  7. Physical Demands: Physically capable of lifting 25 kg unassisted.
