About the Role

The Children's Society is seeking an experienced EYPDAS Lead Practitioner West to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Essex Young People's Drug and Alcohol Service (EYPDAS), you will be responsible for delivering high-quality support to vulnerable young people aged up to 25 years old who require assistance with substance or alcohol use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one and group work interventions to young people, focusing on their individual needs and goals.
  • Line manage up to 3 practitioners, providing supervision, referral allocation, performance management, and ensuring the delivery of Service Manager directives.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with other agencies, ensuring the needs and wishes of young people are heard and acted upon.
  • Lead a team of practitioners, working flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including working in the quadrant and home environments.

Requirements

  • A relevant professional qualification, such as a Diploma or degree in social work, counseling, or a related field, or substantial experience working with vulnerable young people.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable young people and families, including those who are hard to reach and from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience of supporting adolescents with complex and sensitive issues, offering advice and advocacy.
  • Experience of partnership and multi-agency working, including using IT-based case management systems.
