We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Psychological Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will work with adults with complex mental health needs, providing specialist psychological therapy and clinical supervision to inpatient and community teams in Lambeth.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic psychologist to contribute to the development of our services and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities- To provide specialist psychological therapy to adults with complex mental health needs, including assessment, formulation, and intervention.
- To work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care and promote psychologically informed care coordination.
- To provide clinical supervision and consultancy to junior staff and contribute to the development of our services.
- To work flexibly across settings and contribute to service evaluation, audit, and research activities.
- To work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct.
- Relevant entry-level qualification in applied psychology/psychological therapy/psychotherapy and demonstrable practice in this field.
- Additional training beyond entry-level qualification in a specialised area of psychological practice.
- Completed training course in clinical supervision and/or accredited to supervise qualified psychological practitioners.
- Registered/accredited with professional or regulatory body as appropriate to discipline.
- Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the professional body.
- Evidence of having worked as a psychologist/psychotherapist under supervision.
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature.
- Post-qualification experience that supports working with, and addressing issues of, diversity within local communities.
- Ability/willingness to deliver short term psychotherapeutic interventions in inpatient settings.
- Experience working with adults with complex mental health needs.
- Experience of carrying out post-doctoral research, audit or service evaluation projects.
