Adult Psychotherapist or Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist to join our team as a Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a new Wellcome funded study, AVATAR3, which aims to develop and implement a blended digital intervention for distressing voices in psychosis.
As a Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist, you will work closely with the Chief Investigator and the wider team to deliver the key project aims. This will involve developing and testing the feasibility of delivery by a non-specialist UK workforce, as well as establishing AVATAR therapy Implementation and Training Hubs in two distinct LMIC settings (Ethiopia and India).
You will be responsible for supervising Assistant Psychologists, Lived Experience Researchers, and Research Workers to support data collection to a high standard, in line with study protocols. You will also oversee reporting and transfer of research data to project leads, in line with research governance approvals.
Liaising with R&D regarding ethical amendments for the SLaM based feasibility study of AVATAR-AI will be an important aspect of this role. You will also lead on training and supervision of therapists in the SLaM-based feasibility study of AVATAR-AI.
This is a fixed-term position for 22 months, and you will be based in the Henry Wellcome Building IOPPN (Denmark Hill campus). The salary for this role is £70,387 to £80,465 per annum, inclusive of HCAs pro rata.
