About the Role

The Estates Officer will play a key role in supporting the delivery of specialist engineering activities across the Trust, ensuring compliance with safety standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the management of key specialist engineering service contracts
  • Act as a lead in designated service areas, ensuring audits, contact management, and remedial actions are delivered
  • Maintain, operate, and review pre-planned maintenance programmes related to specialist engineering and complex technical subjects
  • Participate in Estates out-of-hours on-call arrangements and undertake Authorised Person responsibilities for specific engineering systems
Person Specification

Essential

  • Qualified to Degree Level in Engineering/Building Services or HNC/HND Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with significant management experience
  • Experience in Operational maintenance in a Mechanical, Electrical, or Building service discipline or equivalent significant experience
  • Be at or working towards Membership of a Professional Institution IHEEM, IEE, IET IMechE, CIBSE
  • ISOH Managing Safely
  • A recognised training qualification/apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Services

Desirable

  • Legionella awareness L8 - Responsible Person
  • NEBOSH - Level 3 Certificate
  • Appointments as an Authorised/Competent person

Essential

  • Ability to interpret and make judgement across a wide range of highly complex estates issues
  • Ability to understand and interpret legislation and develop work plans and policies
  • Ability to react to unplanned events/emergencies in a controlled planned manner

  • Experience of implementing estates operational strategies
