Job Title: Support Worker

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at People Plus Independent Living Services. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME and mental health issues in their daily life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support with accessing social activities, medical appointments, and household tasks
  • Assist with cleaning, washing, gardening, and other household tasks
  • Accompany the individual to medical appointments and community groups
  • Discuss and resolve problems as they arise
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in the care sector
  • Knowledge of ME/CFS and willingness to learn about the condition
  • Comfortable with silence when needed
  • Good communication skills and ability to build trust
  • Reliable, committed, and honest with a cheerful sense of humour
What We Offer:
  • Competitive hourly rate of £16.75
  • 9 hours per week, Monday's 1pm – 5.30pm and Wednesday afternoons 1pm – 5.30pm
  • 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check
  • Mileage paid at 45p per mile
