Position: Quantity Surveyor Manager

Location: Reading - Hybrid Working Model (2 Days On-Site)

Compensation: £550 per day (inside IR35)

Overview: We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor Manager to provide internal support across our Commercial and Procurement divisions, focusing on large-scale, intricate infrastructure projects.

Role Summary:

As a key intermediary between the Commercial and Procurement teams and their suppliers, you will ensure accountability and performance by meticulously reviewing contract execution against obligations and managing all financial aspects related to construction and civil engineering projects. Your contributions will be vital in guaranteeing that projects are executed within budgetary constraints and adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will maintain clear communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee project budgets, estimates, and financial plans.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments and cost evaluations.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage procurement activities.
  • Evaluate, quantify, and authorize changes and variations.
  • Track and report on project advancements, expenditures, and financial projections.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other relevant parties.
  • Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors and team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation with RICS, CIOB, or an equivalent body.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction sector.
  • Demonstrated success in managing costs for large-scale construction initiatives.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software tools (e.g., MS Excel, CostX, CATO, etc.).
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
