About the Role

Vistry Group PLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Reading, Berkshire. As a key member of our Commercial Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the quantity surveying functions, including the procurement of subcontracts and the negotiation of contracts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Maximize profitability by ensuring that all contractual procedures are followed and that the company's strategic objectives are met.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director to identify and mitigate risks, and to develop and implement strategies to optimize cash flow and minimize losses.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the build teams on contractual matters, including the interpretation of contracts and the resolution of disputes.
  • Monitor and report on the financial performance of projects, including the tracking of costs, revenues, and margins.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the company's reputation is maintained and that business opportunities are maximized.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, and share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to ensure that the company remains competitive and compliant.

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified and member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
  • Proven experience in a senior quantity surveying or commercial management role, with a strong track record of delivering results and achieving targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
