Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The National Archives as a Lawmaker Senior Delivery Manager. As a key member of the Lawmaker service team, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of this business-critical service to over 1,000 users, including Clerks, parliamentary staff, and secondary legislation drafters across government.

The Lawmaker service is a shared platform for drafting, amending, and managing legislation in the UK and devolved nations. As the Senior Delivery Manager, you will work closely with the Lawmaker Service Owner to plan and deliver the service, ensuring its continued security and resilience. You will also oversee the support service provided to users, lead on work to continuously improve it, and facilitate the rollout of the service to new user groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver complex digital services in their live phase, ensuring high-quality outputs and good value from suppliers.
  • Communicate complex technical information to non-technical users, using persuasion and influencing skills to foster and maintain key relationships with other teams, contracted suppliers, and senior stakeholders.
  • Operate and improve complex organisational and service processes, guiding others through change and using service metrics to drive improvements.
  • Ensure users receive a high-quality service built around a high-quality product, overseeing or operating processes such as user support, incident management, problem management, and release management.
  • Manage contracts with suppliers and public procurement, including performance management and the evaluation of tenders.
  • Effectively manage cybersecurity and business continuity risks for a digital service.
Requirements
  • Experience of successfully planning and delivering complex digital services in their live phase.
  • Able to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users.
  • Experience of managing contracts with suppliers and public procurement.
  • Experience of effectively managing cybersecurity and business continuity risks for a digital service.
  • Knowledge of the legislative process and of complex document-based workflows.

Alongside a salary of £50,489, The National Archives contributes £14,626 towards your being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
