Position Overview

Are you a skilled critical care nurse with a post-registration qualification in Adult Intensive Care nursing? The Churchill Intensive Care Unit (CICU) offers a remarkable opportunity to join a prestigious center known for its specialties, including Cancer & Haematology, Maxillofacial surgery, and one of Europe's largest transplant facilities.

Our 8-bedded unit provides a bright, spacious, and contemporary environment dedicated to delivering comprehensive patient-centered care.

We currently have openings for Band 6 positions and will customize your professional development plan to meet your individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver holistic patient care aligned with the values of Oxford University Hospitals.
  • Collaborate with patients and their families to develop personalized care plans that encourage active participation.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, relatives, caregivers, and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Uphold and enhance high standards of nursing care, reflecting professional nursing practices.
  • Continuously expand general and specialized knowledge relevant to the Churchill Intensive Care Unit.
  • Exemplify professionalism and serve as a role model for others, adhering to The Code (NMC 2015).
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform the role of Unit Coordinator, managing the responsibilities and demands associated with this position.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of the AICU service by engaging in unit initiatives, completing necessary audits, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Offer leadership and guidance to junior team members within the clinical setting.
  • Act as a professional ambassador for Churchill Critical Care at local, national, and international levels as needed.

Experience Requirements

Essential

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing.
