Position Title: Environmental Compliance Specialist

A distinguished family-owned construction firm, recognized for its commitment to excellence, is in search of a proactive and innovative Environmental Compliance Specialist. This position entails collaborating with a dedicated team to ensure adherence to environmental and sustainability standards while fostering ongoing enhancements across various initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee compliance with applicable environmental and sustainability regulations, establishing and upholding superior standards.
  • Data Oversight: Track, evaluate, and report on resource efficiency and environmental impact metrics.
  • Consultative Role: Offer expert guidance on environmental and sustainability matters to diverse departments and project teams.
  • Policy Compliance: Uphold adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and environmental management protocols.
  • Continuous Enhancement: Advocate for and implement initiatives aimed at improving environmental and quality performance across specific projects.
  • ISO Standards: Support the adoption of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards, and assist in monitoring progress towards sustainability targets and key performance indicators.
  • Plan Formulation: Aid in the creation and execution of Environmental Management Plans and Waste Management Strategies.
  • Performance Analysis: Prepare and present monthly performance reports to stakeholders for individual projects.
  • Legislative Adherence: Ensure all operations comply with current environmental laws and best practices.
  • Risk Evaluation: Provide support in the development of environmental risk assessments and procedural statements.
  • Performance Evaluation: Supervise the assessment, review, and reporting of environmental performance, including carbon metrics related to waste, water, energy, and fuel consumption.
  • Carbon Management: Utilize the SustainIQ platform for managing and reporting carbon data in alignment with strategic energy and carbon initiatives.
  • Internal Auditing: Conduct monthly and annual internal audits, both on-site and in-office.
  • KPI Development: Assist in the formulation of environmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • External Audits: Support the management of external audits as required.
  • Standardization: Ensure uniform quality and environmental standards throughout the organization.
  • Sustainability Evaluations: Guide teams in BREEAM/DREAM/LEED evaluations and review documentation for assessor submission.
