Job Overview
The Internal Sales Manager will be crucial in developing, leading, and managing the internal sales team to meet and exceed sales objectives. This role involves crafting and executing sales strategies, mentoring team members, and ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a robust sales background, exemplary leadership capabilities, and a passion for innovation.
This position will initially require a hands-on approach, with the manager actively participating in sales activities while we scale the team, which the manager will play a key role in sourcing and onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, develop, and cultivate a results-driven internal sales team.
- Lead and Manage Sales Team: Supervise daily operations of the internal sales team, setting an example and contributing to team results while providing guidance to ensure individual and collective sales targets are met, all while embedding the organization's culture, vision, and values.
- Drive KPIs and revenue goals through proactive outreach to our target market.
- Develop Sales Strategies: Formulate and implement effective sales strategies to enhance revenue growth and broaden the customer base.
- Performance Monitoring: Assess and analyze sales performance metrics, delivering regular updates to senior management and making data-informed decisions to refine sales processes.
- Team Development: Organize regular training sessions and workshops to boost the skills and knowledge of the sales team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaboration: Partner with other departments, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to align sales strategies with overarching company objectives.
- Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities, providing insights and recommendations to the sales team and management.
- Administrative Duties: Oversee sales team schedules, prepare sales forecasts, and maintain accurate records of sales activities and transactions.
- Lead the development and maintenance of a robust pipeline of potential income generation opportunities, including prospect research and assessing the viability of income generation initiatives aligned with our strategic goals.
- Manage and nurture strong relationships with new and existing stakeholders, clients, and suppliers to ensure value for money and maximize social impact.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven track record in sales within a high-pressure business development environment.
- Experience in measuring success and reporting progress against targets to Senior Leadership Teams.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders.
- Education: Degree in Business or Marketing (desirable but not essential).
