Area Manager

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead our Development Management team in Somerset. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing two Area Planning Committees and leading a team of officers to deliver high-quality development in the region.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Development Management team to achieve excellent service delivery and meet national and legal requirements.
- Deputise for the Service Manager Development Management and provide support as needed.
- Develop and implement strategies to respond to transformational change and stakeholder expectations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in development management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also have a deep understanding of national and legal requirements and be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive day rate, a 37-hour working week, and a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. The role will be based in both Yeovil and Shepton Mallett, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals.
