Job Title: Export Control Manager

STR Group Limited is seeking an experienced Export Control Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with UK and foreign import/export laws, including the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to individuals and managers on trade compliance matters
  • Manage the operational and strategic aspects of trade, customs, and security compliance activities
  • Engage with stakeholders to drive a culture of compliance and protect the business
  • Proactively manage licensing and agreements to ensure business needs are met
  • Develop and embed compliance procedures and processes
  • Undertake project work to ensure compliance requirements are met
  • Design and deliver training programs on trade compliance
  • Liaise with external parties to ensure compliance requirements are met
  • Act as Security Controller for the business
Requirements:
  • Degree-level qualification desirable, experience most important
  • Background/experience in the marine sector/defence manufacturing preferable
  • Demonstrable experience in international trade compliance
  • Advanced knowledge of UK and US trade regulations
  • Proficiency in export licensing and agreements
  • Ability to summarise complex regulatory information
  • Proactive and independent, capable of performing duties with minimal supervision
