About the Role

The Senior Technical Officer will provide technical support to the Maintenance Engineering team, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of electrification and plant maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Carry out work safely and in accordance with safe systems of work procedures, method statements, plans, and other instructions.
  2. Adhere to company policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
  3. Manage and check the quality of work delivered, confirming assets are compliant to standards.
  4. Prepare work and resource specifications, method statements, and plans, ensuring effective project management.
  5. Provide technical support and guidance to the team, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  6. Design, install, test, and commission equipment, ensuring it meets the required standards.
  7. Undertake and supervise technical tasks, surveys, and design work, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  8. Conduct technical inspections, tests, investigations, and analysis of technical data, identifying areas for improvement.
  9. Prioritize work arising and agree work plans for the group, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  10. Prepare specifications and requisition for materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  11. Manage processes and systems for the calibration and certification of tools and equipment, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  12. Manage information to update systems, databases, and records, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  13. Contribute to your own development and that of others, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

  1. Knowledge of technical support activities and techniques, with a focus on electrification and plant maintenance.
  2. Knowledge and experience of construction management processes, systems, and standards, with a focus on safety and compliance.
  3. Knowledge of design requirements, processes, and techniques, with a focus on ensuring accurate and effective delivery.
  4. Able to demonstrate, promote, and embed safe working behaviors within the team, ensuring a culture of safety and compliance.
  5. Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with a focus on clear and concise communication.
  6. Able to coach, influence, and develop others, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  7. Hold and retain the competencies relevant to this post and required by business need, with a focus on safety and compliance.
  8. Ideally hold or be working towards an NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering/leadership subject, with a focus on developing technical skills and knowledge.
  9. Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need, with a focus on safety and compliance.
