Job Title: Electronics Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at People Source Consulting. As a key member of our technology recruitment team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic instruments and equipment, as well as maintaining and upgrading existing designs to meet legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new electronic instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and upgrade existing designs to meet legislative requirements, overcome obsolescence, and improve performance.
  • Propose and prepare electronic specifications to meet functional requirements and negotiate achievable requirements.
  • Prototype, test, and document results, presenting test data to stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot development and production issues, contributing to test and inspection plans as necessary.
  • Liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors, and internal and external personnel as required.
  • Maintain electronic and software information to meet quality system requirements.
  • Advise on content and provide outline and key details for technical support documentation.
  • Continuously improve electronic and software design, and suggest ideas for improving quality and efficiency.
  • Train other employees in technical and operational matters, as required.
Requirements:
  • Good understanding of instrumentation and monitoring systems, and familiarity with signal processing and instrumentation.
  • HND or degree level in electronics or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of electronics (hardware) product development and design experience.
  • Circuit board design software package knowledge, including Altium, Cadence, or similar.
  • EMC, RoHS, LVD, CE/UKCA design compliance.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) design and implementation experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to troubleshoot and propose solutions for electronics-related issues.
  • Firmware design experience is advantageous.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good computer literacy skills.
