Job Overview: Material Handling Equipment Specialist

Location: Derby, UK

Compensation: £12.76/hour

Key Responsibilities:

In this essential role, you will play a crucial part in the assembly of meal kits for our clientele. Your contributions will be vital in managing the seamless flow of incoming and outgoing products while adhering to Health & Safety and Food Safety protocols. You will operate material handling equipment (MHE) to assist with stock movements, support inventory control, and enhance the overall efficiency of our operations.

  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations, actively collaborating with HelloFresh on all health and safety matters. You are responsible for your own health, safety, and welfare during your tasks and must report any incidents immediately while raising health and safety concerns to your Line Manager.
  • Engage in basic problem-solving and escalate issues to the shift team as necessary.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and Instructions diligently.
  • Clear any jams or blockages in automated machinery.
  • Assist with general warehouse operations, including replenishing cartons in box erectors and lidding machines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse, including workstations, storage areas, and equipment.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as required.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions to the Warehouse Team Leader.
  • Ensure compliance with PPE and personal & food hygiene standards.
  • Undertake any other reasonable responsibilities associated with this role.

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated experience in a warehouse or similar setting, preferably within the food sector.
  • GCSE qualifications in Maths & English.
  • MHE License is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations pertinent to warehouse operations.
  • Proficient in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (relevant certification is advantageous).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to adapt to business needs.
