The firm is seeking to recruit an Internal Audit Manager due to ongoing growth. The realm of internal audit is both varied and fulfilling, and as a Manager, you will oversee a complete portfolio of general practice clients, assuming full accountability for client needs with minimal Partner involvement aside from final assessments. You will manage work in progress (WIP), billing processes, and debtor management, while ensuring the effective delivery of work within your team, which includes mentoring, conducting team meetings, and performance appraisals. A proactive approach to fee development and regular participation in networking and business development events is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare files for Partner or Director review, ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Manage your own portfolio effectively, including workforce planning, WIP management, and billing.
  • Anticipate workflow requirements for yourself and your team in collaboration with the Partner.
  • Enhance and cultivate client relationships with both existing and prospective clients.
  • Engage in business development activities, including attending new client meetings and networking events.
  • Exhibit strong commercial acumen in fee development and cross-selling specialized services.
  • Identify opportunities to add value proactively.
  • Maintain awareness of current legislation and compliance standards relevant to client situations.
  • Understand assignment plans, instructions, and time budgets prior to commencing assignments, briefing team members accordingly.
  • Draft high-quality business correspondence, including complex reports and business plans, while providing value for money to clients.
  • Focus on delivering effective services to valued clients and seek additional work for less profitable clients in consultation with relevant Partners.
  • Act as the primary contact for compliance inquiries from clients within your portfolio.
  • Lead the annual planning process with clients.
  • Generate annual internal audit reports for clients as applicable.
  • Provide fee quotes and estimates within your authority level.
  • Manage scope changes appropriately.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and credit control matters in line with internal procedures.
  • Collaborate constructively with partners and HR regarding team performance, including evaluations and financial outcomes.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to team members, providing guidance and constructive feedback through performance reviews.
  • Monitor team performance and work standards to ensure compliance.
  • Motivate and mentor team members through effective communication and constructive feedback.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified ACA / ACCA / IIA.
  • Proven experience in planning and executing audits of various scales.
