Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the maintenance of project financial forecasts to ensure alignment with the approved budget and collaborates with budget stakeholders.
  • Assists in the estimation of future financial forecasts and validates the accuracy of incurred costs, including materials, labor, supplier invoices, timesheets, and travel expenditures.
  • Coordinates with project teams and timelines to ensure that potential cost risks are identified and that financial forecasts are appropriately scheduled.
  • Monitors and manages cost fluctuations, comparing them with the current project scope and progress, as well as previous forecasts. Evaluates productivity metrics and confirms the precision of financial estimates.
  • Communicates financial status, forecasts, and risks to budget stakeholders, facilitating risk mitigation strategies and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Delivers comprehensive financial reports in a clear manner, participating in project and management reviews to discuss financial status, budget variances, and underlying causes.
  • Collaborates with the Finance Controller to ensure that there is a reconciliation between the approved project financial data and the accounting records.
  • Works closely with project planners to ensure that financial and scheduling aspects are synchronized, providing time-phased financial forecasts for sales tracking. Reports on the root causes of cost movements that may affect sales objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Possesses a degree in finance or an engineering discipline with financial training.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Significant experience in financial oversight of comprehensive projects.
  • Proven track record in managing large and intricate infrastructure initiatives.
  • In-depth understanding of project finance with expert proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Experience in leading small teams within extensive projects.
  • Familiarity with risk management methodologies and tools.
  • Experience in project planning, with a solid understanding of P6 planning software being advantageous.
