Job Title: Housekeeping Aide

Mon Sheong Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Aide.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors at Mon Sheong Scarborough Long-Term Care Centre.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and Disinfection: Clean and disinfect residents' rooms, including walls, floors, and light fixtures, to maintain a high level of cleanliness and prevent the spread of infections.
  • Daily and Monthly Cleaning: Dust window ledges, door frames, and closets, and perform daily/monthly cleaning of glass surfaces to ensure a sparkling clean environment.
  • Counter and Table Cleaning: Clean and disinfect counter tops, tables, and chairs to maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Floor Care: Vacuum carpets as required, and wash floors with germicidal solution and clean grout regularly to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Laundry Services: Do laundry for residents, including personal clothing and linens, and follow up on lost clothing reports to ensure residents' needs are met.
  • Restroom Cleaning: Clean and disinfect washrooms throughout the Home, and clean and polish tubs, sinks, taps, toilets, and mirrors to maintain a high level of cleanliness.
  • Garbage and Recycling: Empty garbage and change plastic liners as needed to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Equipment Cleaning: Clean wheelchairs according to schedule, and follow procedures for cleaning and caring for equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Inventory Management: Manage laundry supplies and products inventory to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Communication: Communicate with charge nurses regarding special care of linens or clothing to ensure residents' needs are met.
Requirements:
  • Education: Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Skills: Ability to operate laundry equipment, and enjoy working with the elderly.
  • Language: Bilingual in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is preferred.
