Mon Sheong Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Aide. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Clean and disinfect residents' rooms, including dusting, polishing, and vacuuming floors and surfaces.
  • Dust and clean window ledges, door frames, and closets.
  • Perform daily and monthly cleaning of glass surfaces as needed.
  • Clean and disinfect countertops, tables, and chairs, as well as disinfect all spills and soils.
  • Vacuum all carpets as required.
  • Clean and disinfect washrooms, including tubs, sinks, taps, toilets, and mirrors.
  • Wash all floors with germicidal solution and clean grout on floors regularly.
  • Dust and mop lounge areas daily, and sweep and mop dining room floors after each meal.
  • Do laundry for all residents, including personal clothing and linens.
  • Follow up on reports of lost clothing and take action as necessary.
  • Clean staff lockers and volunteer and staff rest rooms.
  • Sweep and wash stairwells weekly.
  • Empty garbage to the janitor/soiled room and change plastic liners as needed.
  • Clean wheelchairs according to assigned schedule.
  • Follow procedures for the cleaning and care of equipment.
  • Responsible for inventory and control of laundry supplies and products.
  • Communicate with the charge nurse regarding special care of linens or clothing.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with the elderly.
  • Ability to operate laundry equipment.
  • Bilingual in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is preferred.
