Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As an MEP Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in our team, with responsibilities including conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports, and managing, estimating, and planning costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies and contract selection.
  • Write and undertake procurement reports.
  • Apply value management techniques at the outset of a project.
  • Manage, estimate, and plan costs, including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Negotiate and agree on final accounts.
  • Represent the firm to clients, stakeholders, and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Handle contractual frameworks and standard forms of contract.
  • Identify and act upon opportunities to enhance our cost management procedures, templates, and products.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrates a strong background in MEP quantity surveying with a proven track record.
  • Ideally, you are MRICS or working towards chartership.
  • Essential experience with pre-contract services.
  • Expertise in cost planning, budgeting, and estimating.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and contractual frameworks in construction.
  • Proven ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration.
  • Understanding of value engineering and life cycle costing.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Awareness of critical issues such as Sustainability, Social Value, and Carbon Reduction impacting the Public Sector.
