About Protocol Education: We are collaborating with a well-regarded co-educational secondary institution that has received a positive evaluation from educational oversight authorities. They are looking to appoint a Learning & Behavior Support Specialist to join their team on a full-time basis.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage an alternative provision space designed to support students with Additional Educational Needs (AEN).
  • Design and implement a curriculum that fosters both academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with Alternative Provision Leaders to create a tailored learning program that addresses the diverse needs of students.
  • Contribute to enhancing the academic performance of AEN students, ensuring they achieve expected or improved progress.
  • Promote the well-being of AEN students within the educational setting.
  • Safeguard the welfare of all students you interact with.

Key Duties:

  • Participate in strategic and institutional development initiatives.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive culture within the educational community.
  • Support the development of the institution's vision, values, and objectives while adhering to professional standards.
  • Oversee the alternative provision space.
  • Plan and deliver educational sessions that cater to students' academic and social needs.
  • Ensure that all students have access to a well-rounded curriculum that includes core subjects and relevant activities.
  • Work collaboratively with inclusion staff to establish clear targets and timelines for students referred to the alternative provision.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience or a strong commitment to working with children with a variety of Additional Educational Needs (AEN).
  • Background in supporting children whose behavior may hinder their learning.
  • Dedication to ensuring equitable access to the curriculum for all students.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their learning and behavioral goals.
  • Proficient in maintaining records and writing concise reports.
  • Understanding of Equal Opportunities principles within an educational context.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with parents, students, and the community.
  • Minimum qualifications of GCSE English and Mathematics at grades A*-C or equivalent.
