SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our team at Sugarman Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support and assistance to our students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons and activities.
- Support students with personal care tasks, including toileting, feeding, and mobility, as needed.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Assist in the implementation of behavioral interventions and strategies to support positive behavior management.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to support student development and progress.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of all students.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development as required.
