About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer to join our dedicated Student Services Team at the Fashion Retail Academy.

The Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer will play a critical role in supporting the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students, providing front-line advice, guidance, and referrals to other services within and beyond the Student Services Team. They will work closely with students, staff, and external partners to ensure the delivery of an exceptional student support experience.

The ideal candidate will be a personable, highly skilled active listener with a passion for wellbeing and education. They will have a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding, pastoral care, and equality and diversity issues, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About You

  • You will have a proven track record of operating in a similar role in a similar environment.
  • You will have a Safeguarding qualification or be willing to undertake this.
  • You will have a comprehensive understanding of pastoral care issues and support measures, as well as effective boundary management skills.
  • You will have an understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing, and equality and diversity issues as it relates to this role.
  • You will have good knowledge of learner needs and issues facing young people.
  • You will have good organisational, planning, time management, and administrative skills, as well as good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • You will have the ability to communicate with confidence with a wide range of people and the ability to listen with understanding and relate to social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties in a manner that enhances students' self-esteem.
  • You will have the ability to build rapport quickly with learners and colleagues, to develop positive, cooperative, and effective working relationships.
  • You will be a role model for appropriate and aspirational behaviours for learners.
  • You will have a commitment to and passion for the development and progression of all learners.
  • You will have a flexible, resilient, and positive attitude.

Salary:

From £26,000 to £29,000 per annum, subject to qualifications and experience.
