About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer to join our dedicated Student Services Team at the EFI. The successful candidate will support, safeguard, enable, and champion the success of all students by providing front-line and responsive advice, guidance, and referral to other services within and beyond the Student Services Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a designated safeguarding lead and provide pastoral care to students
  • Provide practical advice and support to students, including those with social and emotional difficulties
  • Work as part of a team to deliver an exceptional student support experience
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of safeguarding and wellbeing policies and procedures
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of operating in a similar role in a similar environment. You will have a Safeguarding qualification or be willing to undertake this. You will also have a comprehensive understanding of pastoral care issues and support measures, as well as effective boundary management skills.

You will have an understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing, and equality and diversity issues as they relate to this role. Good knowledge of learner needs and issues facing young people is essential. You will also have good organisational, planning, time management, and administrative skills, as well as good literacy and numeracy skills.

You will have the ability to communicate with confidence with a wide range of people and the ability to listen with understanding and relate to social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties in a way that enhances students' self-esteem. You will also have the ability to build rapport quickly with learners and colleagues, develop positive, cooperative, and effective working relationships, and be a role model for appropriate and aspirational behaviours for learners.
