About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement effective health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols to minimize risks and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  2. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement controls to mitigate them.
  3. Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety procedures and best practices.
  4. Collaborate with senior management and departmental teams to develop and implement health and safety strategies that align with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  5. Represent the Trust at regional and national health and safety meetings and conferences to stay up-to-date with best practices and emerging trends.
Requirements
  1. NEBOSH level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
  2. Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or equivalent membership.
  3. Substantial experience in health and safety management, preferably within a healthcare environment.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
