About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICT Senior Technical Engineer to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a key member of our ICT Directorate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our ICT Technical Operations objectives.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in technical engineering, with experience in maintaining and operating server, application, and cloud services. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability of our server environment, including physical and virtual servers, as well as our Citrix estate.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance and day-to-day operation of server, application, and cloud services
  • Availability of the Trust's entire server environment, both physical and virtual
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (formerly System Centre Configuration Manager)
  • Ensuring updates pushed out via the Endpoint Configuration Manager are fully tested and delivered in a controlled and timely manner

We are looking for a talented and experienced technical engineer who can inspire staff to achieve a common goal. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate, negotiate, and influence staff at all levels in the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policies, Cloud Services, Virtualization, Business Continuity, App delivery services, and Disaster Recovery. You will also have significant experience configuring and managing a Microsoft Active Directory forest and the related server and back office technologies generally found within.
