Job Title: Lecturer in Computing

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer in Computing to join our team at Protocol National Limited. As a Lecturer in Computing, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality teaching and learning materials to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning:
    • Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials to students, ensuring that they engage with the material and achieve their learning outcomes.
    • Maintain accurate attendance records and work with the attendance team to ensure the accuracy of student information.
    • Develop and update teaching materials, including class notes and digital resources, to ensure that they are relevant and effective.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to improve student academic experience and develop the content or structure of modules as needed.
  • Assessment and Marking:
    • Set and mark assessments, ensuring that they are fair and consistent, and provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
    • Support the production of assessments and ensure that they are approved in accordance with relevant procedures.
    • Participate in standardization and moderation meetings as required.
  • Student Support:
    • Provide pastoral support to students, signposting them to specialist services as needed.
    • Monitor student progress and liaise with specialist services to ensure that students receive the support they need.

Requirements:

  • Essential Qualifications and Experience:
    • Master's degree in a relevant subject discipline.
    • Fellowship of the Advanced Higher Education (HEA) or willingness to work towards (within 12 months).
    • Significant experience in teaching, curriculum development, and quality management in a higher education environment.
    • Appropriate digital skills in learning, teaching, and assessment.
  • Personal Qualities:
    • Positive attitude to colleagues and students.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to influence, collaborate, and interact effectively with stakeholders.
    • Ability to provide expert guidance and develop understanding and resolve complex problems.
