Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Computing Specialist to join our team at New City College. As an IT Lecturer 0.8 FTE, you will be responsible for teaching and assessing learning on a range of courses, including BTEC & Technical (Tlevel) qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop and deliver curriculum in line with national requirements, focusing on student-centred teaching and learning strategies to enhance retention, achievement, and progression.
  • To provide regular feedback to students, offering group and individual tutorial support to maximize their benefit from the course or program.
  • To work effectively as a member of the team, collaborating with Senior Curriculum Manager and colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • To take an active role in own professional development, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • To have experience of online or blended teaching/learning and be able to teach across multiple sites.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree (or equivalent) and a teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards this).
  • Proven experience of teaching and preparing relevant materials, with an awareness of the pastoral and academic needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and experience of working with Apprenticeship standards is desirable.
