Hours: 18 hours per week (0.5 FTE)

We are seeking a highly creative candidate with expertise in film making and content production to lead our BA Filmmaking and BA Film Studies programmes.

The focus of the role is on narrative film production and an ideal candidate would be someone with experience of taking a project from development through to completion.

You should have a wealth of industry contacts with a technical knowledge of digital film equipment, camera operating, lighting, on-set procedures, and some editing experience would be advantageous.

You will work in the School of Liberal and Creative Arts amongst a vibrant community of academics and students doing practice-based work across a range of creative media.

You will teach on our BA Filmmaking and BA Film Studies courses focusing on the technical aspects of working on a TV/Film set.

Candidate summary:

  • Experience of teaching within a higher education setting.
  • Have or be working towards FHEA.
  • Be able to combine technical skills with lecturing acumen, providing academic and pastoral support to students.
  • Be able to design, mark and assess students work, providing positive and constructive feedback.
  • To induct students, through demonstration, into safe working practices, processes and the proper use of equipment.
  • Ideally the candidate will have some experience of using Adobe Premiere Pro Editing Software.
  • The candidate should have a good professional profile within the area of film making/content production and be able to draw on industry contacts to benefit the graduate outcomes of students.
