Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operating Officer will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction of the Brandywine Health Foundation. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the operational infrastructure, ensuring the foundation's mission delivery needs are met, and driving investments in efficient systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to develop and implement a 5-year business plan, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and business operations.
  2. Community Investments: Work with the CEO and board to set and articulate the organization's mission-aligned investing vision, overseeing community investments and supporting a hybrid grantmaking and finance committee structure.
  3. Business Acumen: Co-design and oversee robust resource allocation, operations, and financial processes, ensuring effective budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  4. Change Management: Lead the organization through sustainable change, solving challenges and problems to strengthen quality and system operations.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to organizational, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary.
  6. Inclusive Culture: Foster an inclusive team environment, embracing and demonstrating the foundation's guiding principles and values.
Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of five years operational and financial management experience in a complex, nonprofit/foundation environment.
  2. Master's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Effectiveness, or a related field is strongly desired.
  3. Possess strong strategic and business planning acumen, accompanied by strong financial management and grants and fund accounting abilities.
  4. Effective in building and presenting accurate, complex, and complete information.
  5. Sense of humor and positive relationship-building skills.
