CFO Job Description

Oxitec is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join its executive team. As a key member of the leadership team, the CFO will play a critical role in driving the company's ambitious international growth.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in senior financial leadership and management roles, preferably within an international, multisite environment in an innovation-driven or mid-sized technology start-up.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a talented finance team in the UK and abroad
  • Developing and implementing financial strategy and operations
  • Ensuring effective control environment and overseeing internal and external financial reporting
  • Managing reporting and compliance to the Board and large collaborators
  • Providing strategic guidance and support to the CEO and other ELT members

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with expertise in UK and US financial reporting/compliance requirements, as well as experience in setting up or managing financial operations and teams in additional countries.

Experience in grant funding and reporting would be highly beneficial, as would leadership experience in managing financial operations and growth in commercial and manufacturing lines of business.
