We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist to join our Children and Young People Eating Disorder Service in North Yorkshire and York.

The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment and therapeutic intervention to young people with eating disorders and their families. The ideal candidate will have experience in children's mental health services and/or eating disorder services, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and clinical risk assessment and management.

The Clinical Specialist will take a lead role in delivering clinical services to young people and their families, including supervision of clinicians and contributing to clinical decision-making. The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to colleagues in the assessment, treatment, and management of young people with eating disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment and evidence-based interventions to children and young people with eating disorders.
  • Supervise clinicians and contribute to clinical decision-making.
  • Provide clinical leadership to colleagues in the assessment, treatment, and management of young people with eating disorders.
  • Act as a resource for specialist advice, training, guidance, and consultation to the team and partner agencies.
Requirements
  • Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent.
  • Evidence of training in clinical supervision of other staff and able to demonstrate competence in this area of practice.
  • Postgraduate diploma (or above) in a subject relevant to the area of practice.
  • Experience of assessing and managing risk (harm to self, others, and safeguarding).
  • Involvement in quality improvement activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of patients who display high-risk behaviours.
