Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Restaurant Manager to oversee our dedicated team at Harajuku Kitchen, a celebrated Japanese dining establishment.
Job Type: Full-time
Working Hours: 5 days per week
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with prior experience in a similar role within a dynamic restaurant environment, or for a capable Restaurant Supervisor or Duty Manager ready to advance their career. You will collaborate closely with our Owner and Management team to ensure exceptional customer service while managing Front of House operations. This role also allows for creativity in team management, menu specials, and innovative marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise, train, and motivate restaurant staff, fostering effective communication and teamwork.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen staff to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Manage inventory and procure supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally and promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Develop strategies to enhance sales and improve profitability.
- Work with the kitchen team to create new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Assist in preparing reports on staff performance, inventory, and sales.
- Organize and manage marketing initiatives, including promotional events.
- Maintain a clean and organized restaurant environment, upholding high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Collaborate with the business owner to realize the restaurant's vision.
- Take responsibility for the overall service quality offered.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a fast-paced Japanese bistro is preferred; experience in a similar-sized restaurant is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Essential Skills:
- Customer-focused with excellent relationship-building abilities.
- Detail-oriented, consistently seeking ways to enhance the guest experience.
- Knowledgeable in food preparation techniques and current culinary trends.
- Able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with bartending techniques is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
