About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Hydrogeologist to join our Groundwater team at the British Geological Survey (BGS). As a key member of our team, you will apply your specialist scientific and technical skills to deliver and develop research projects for BGS.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading projects and teams in hydrogeological data collection, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Writing and delivering publications, presentations, and funding applications.
  • Building engagement and collaboration with internal and external partners and customers, including overseas.
  • Playing an active part in the groundwater science community, publishing research and presenting at conferences.
  • Managing projects and people.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in hydrogeology and water resource science, with a PhD or MSc and significant post-graduate work experience in a hydrogeology research environment. You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Key Requirements:

  • PhD or MSc in hydrogeology or water resource science.
  • Significant post-graduate work experience in a hydrogeology research environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel in the UK and abroad for meetings and/or fieldwork.
