Senior Hydrogeologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrogeologist to join our team at UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will apply your specialist scientific and technical skills to deliver and develop research projects for BGS. You will work on several projects, collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality research outputs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Applying specialist hydrogeology, numerical, and geoscience skills to deliver and develop research projects.
• Leading projects and teams in hydrogeological data collection, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
• Writing and delivering publications, presentations, and funding applications.
• Building engagement and collaboration with internal and external partners and customers.
• Playing an active part in the groundwater science community, publishing research and presenting at conferences.
• Managing projects and people.

Requirements:

• PhD with a strong element of hydrogeology or water resource science.
• Commitment to personal and professional development.
• Excellent communication skills, including report writing, publication of research, and oral presentation.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel in the UK and abroad for meetings and/or fieldwork.
• Experience of specialist hydrogeological analysis techniques, such as aquifer tests, environmental tracers, or hydrogeochemistry.
• Experience of managing people and/or projects.
• A strong scientific research profile.
