About the Role

Glasgow City Planning is seeking a skilled professional to join our Heritage, Design and Landscape Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in protecting and promoting Glasgow's unique built heritage assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide best practice conservation and design advice throughout the planning process, including assessment of development proposals and policy guidance.
  • Contribute to heritage-led regeneration and placemaking initiatives that focus on returning vacant heritage buildings into productive use.
  • Work with a range of stakeholders, including multi-disciplinary professional teams, statutory bodies, and members of the local community.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a degree or equivalent qualification in planning, architecture, architectural conservation, urban design, surveying, or a related discipline. You will also require previous experience and working knowledge of the heritage and design aspects of the planning system.

Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), the Institute of Historic Buildings Conservation (IHBC), or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) would be beneficial. Excellent communication and digital skills are also essential.
