Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a GP Reception Team Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the reception team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice, and providing excellent customer service to our patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the reception team and ensure the effective management of administrative tasks, including patient registration, appointment scheduling, and data entry.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes to improve the overall patient experience and practice efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the management team to recruit, train, and develop the reception team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Provide administrative support to the practice manager and deputy practice manager, ensuring the smooth operation of the practice in their absence.
  • Ensure compliance with practice protocols and procedures, and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with patients, staff, and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Flexibility to work outside of core office hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patients, staff, and external partners.
  • Computer literacy and keyboard skills, including data input and management.
  • Experience of working in a GP practice or healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of administrative procedures and patient care.

Qualifications and Experience

  • English and Mathematics GCSE Grade C or above.
  • Desirable qualifications include AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification, NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience as a GP Reception Team Leader or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of practice operations and patient care.
