Senior IT Operations Engineer (3rd & 4th Line Support) Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Operations Engineer to join our expanding IT team at Eden Scott. This role is perfect for IT generalists with expertise in Microsoft O365 or VMware technologies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and improving our IT infrastructure and systems during an exciting period of growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Monitoring & Maintenance: Ensure our systems run efficiently and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Incident Management: Handle 3rd/4th level technical escalations within our IT support structure, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain our IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • Security & Patch Management: Collaborate with our Cyber Security team to secure our systems, networks, and data, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Backup & Recovery: Maintain and test backup procedures, conduct disaster recovery exercises, and ensure business continuity.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor system usage, scale, and grow our infrastructure to meet future needs, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.


What We're Looking For:

  • Microsoft Servers: Experience with Server 2012 onwards, DHCP, DNS, GPO, and more.
  • Virtualisation Technologies: Expertise in vSphere v7+, hypervisor, cluster, storage, and network management for VMware.
  • Backup & DR: Knowledge in backup/replication, storage management, and restore operations.
  • Systems Management: Proficiency in patch management, monitoring, and hardware maintenance.
  • Additional skills: Azure, Veeam, Dell VxWorks, Cyber security.
