We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Health and Environmental Specialist to join our team at Nottingham City Council Housing Services. Key Responsibilities- Assist in the operational delivery of health and safety management systems, ensuring compliance and continual improvement.
- Maintain and update health and safety policies, procedures, and guidance.
- Conduct site inspections of offices and workplaces to ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
- Investigate accidents and near misses, identifying lessons learned to reduce risk and support insurance claims.
- Support the management of risks from hand-arm vibration, construction dust, and occupational health surveillance.
- Develop and present written and verbal information in a clear and concise manner.
- Minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent and relevant membership of IOSH.
- Ability to demonstrate specialist skills, knowledge, and experience in current health and safety topics affecting housing providers.
- Able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
- Experience of working with others to improve organizational safety culture.
- Proven experience of the practical application of legislation in the workplace.
- Experience of leading training and workshops.
