Job Title: Health and Safety Advisor - Construction

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at Thorn Baker Recruitment Ltd. As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend control measures, with a focus on construction-specific risks.
  2. Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices, tailored to the construction industry.
  3. Develop and deliver H&S training programs tailored to construction activities to educate employees on safe work practices.
  4. Investigate construction-related accidents or near-miss incidents and collaborate with management to implement corrective actions.
  5. Provide expert advice on construction-specific H&S policies, procedures, and relevant legislation to ensure compliance with regional regulations.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the construction industry to promote a proactive approach to health and safety in the workplace.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in conducting construction-specific risk assessments and site inspections within a similar role.
  2. In-depth knowledge of construction health and safety regulations and best practices.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with construction workers at all levels.
  4. Relevant certification or qualifications in construction health and safety management, such as NEBOSH certification with a construction bias.
  5. Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement in H&S processes within the construction industry.
