Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join our Environmental Fluid Mechanics research group at the University of Oxford. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and testing tidal stream turbines and platform concepts for renewable energy generation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and test tidal stream turbines and platform concepts for renewable energy generation
  • Contribute to the design of laboratory turbines and coordinate their manufacture and assembly
  • Lead turbine testing campaigns at Oxford and external facilities and related data analysis
  • Work within a large team of researchers working on wind and tidal energy projects in Oxford and the wider Supergen ORE Hub
Requirements
  • Relevant PhD (or near completion) in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong background and relevant experience in experimental fluid mechanics
  • Excellent communication skills
