About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commissioning and Contract Officer to join our Public Health Commissioning Team at West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, affordable services to our residents.

Main Responsibilities

  • Commission and contract manage medium-high risk/value contracts to ensure performance is achieved.
  • Collate performance information through establishing and managing routine monitoring processes, including regular meetings with providers.
  • Identify performance issues, agree performance improvement plans, and use knowledge of performance levers within contracts to improve performance.
  • Support the identification and delivery of substantial efficiencies from established contracts and ensure future contracting includes financial KPIs to maximise value, alongside improvements in outcomes for service users.
  • Develop outcome-based contract performance measures focused on service user experiences, service quality, and financial performance.

About You

We are looking for an individual with excellent relationship management and communication skills, who can work effectively with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders to ensure effective contract management is achieved.
